Invicta has released a new watch and I can tell you it is all shades of awesome. Rarely do I come across a watch that makes me go “I have never seen anything quite like that”. I think with this watch that Invicta has made borders the realm of Haute Horlogerie. To be honest, looking at the watch on discountwatchstore.com doesn't really do it justice. The reason is that the piece de resistance, which are the additional time zones on either side of the case middle are not shown. That's why I felt the need (more of a responsibility really) to cover this watch.
This timepiece, officially called the Invicta Bolt Tria Reserve 16955 , is made in solid, hypoallergenic stainless steel. In the style of the Invicta Bolt series, there is a unidirectional bezel accented with a black cable. The watch is very symmetrical across as the main crown and the textured, chronograph pushpieces are found at the 6 position. I really like pushers though, they seem to be integrated into the case, which is a really nice touch. Apart from that, the main crown is screw locked, which helps with the water resistance of this timepiece. Water resistance stands at 100 meters, making this model perfect for everyday usage.
As previously mentioned, the case middle features the additional time zones, which are displayed in analog format. The bracelet also carries cables giving the watch a rugged look. The watch is very large with a 56mm case diameter – I have a small wrist so I don't think I could pull that off but I have seen it on other men and it looks truly fantastic.
The dial is black and it is devoid of hour markers. Along the flange is a conservative tachometric scale for the measurement of average speed. The Invicta Reserve logo is printed at 12 in an almost seemingly minimalist manner, which is something kind of unique for Invicta. Does it work on the watch? You tell me.
The hands are skeletonized, sword shaped and luminous for readability at night. The chrono-seconds indicator carries a counter-balance with the Reserve collection logo. The largest subdial occurs at the 9 position, displaying the true seconds. Also at the 9 position is a large double date display. Normally these kinds of date apertures are rendered horizontally, but Invicta goes against the grain yet again and renders them vertically. This model also indicates the day of the week at 3 o'clock in retrograde format with a red colored indicator.
The chronograph measures up to 30 minutes, which can be found at the 12 position. At 6 is the 1/10 of a second counter for the chronograph. I think the usage of red on the chrono-subdials is a great touch. Naturally, Invicta uses their proprietary Flame Fusion crystal for this watch. Scratch resistance is maintained by the layer of sapphire over the hardened mineral crystal.
Powering the new Invicta Bolt Tria Reserve 16955 is a quartz chronograph movement caliber Ronda 8040.N made and assembled in Switzerland. This amazing timepiece is available at Discount Watch Store, where it is on sale for $1,219.90 (down from $3,495). For a watch of this caliber, you should expect a great warranty – and Invicta delivers with a 5 year guarantevedere di piu orologi e Rolex Datejust II
